Leqi graduated from Guangdong University of Finance & Economics in 2020 with a B.A. in Journalism (Multimedia concentration). In 2019, as a new media intern of Fortune China, she wrote daily briefings and weekly newsletters, and assisted editors in preparing Fortune’s rankings and events. Such experience introduced her interest in business and technology news. Later, Leqi interned at Reuters Shanghai newsroom company news team for nine months, where she participated in projects concerning listed companies, banking, environment, commodities, policies, Chinese auto industries, and Covid-19. Before joining Berkeley Journalism, Leqi reported for Caixin Media, exploring scientific discoveries, environmental pollution, and climate change. Her part-time job in the past year was assisting PRX’s The World Radio Program covering topics regarding all aspects of China, including policies, society, consumption, and popular trends. After spending the summer with NBC News’ Biztech Unit, Leqi is interning at CNBC San Francisco Bureau this fall.
